The History of Body Positivity: Mirror Mirror Podcast

July 15, 2021

In this episode, Marie leads the discussion on the history of the body positivity movement, which started as the fat liberation movement in the 1960s. Marie and Mia discuss how the history of body positivity has been whitewashed — as it has left people of colour out of the discussion — and they give credit to some notable black female activists who had an impact on the fat liberation and body positivity movements.
